Hearth watches for movement, never images or sound. Signals are encrypted on the way to our secure UK/EU cloud and encrypted at rest, and only the family you invite can ever see them. No cameras. No microphones. Nothing to wear.
Every signal is encrypted on its way from the home to our secure UK/EU cloud, and encrypted while it's stored. No cameras, no microphones, no images, no audio. Only simple movement and door events.
The hub only ever calls out. It carries its own unique security certificate and never accepts incoming connections. Nothing on the internet can reach into the home, and there are no router settings to change.
The dashboard, alerts and plain-English summaries all work without AI. If you switch AI insights on, your parent's name is stripped out before anything is sent, and you can turn it off again at any time.
Every remote diagnostic access is logged and visible to you. You can see exactly who accessed the hub and when. Transparency isn't optional. It's how we built it.
“Movement in the kitchen at 9:42am.” That's the entire message. No image, no sound, no identity. The sensors physically cannot record anything else.
The hub forwards each event over an encrypted connection to Hearth's secure servers in the UK/EU, where the day's pattern is worked out and stored, encrypted at rest.
The dashboard, summaries and alerts go to the family members you've invited, and nobody else. Hearth staff have no routine access, and any diagnostic access is logged for you to see.
If you choose to switch on AI insights, one extra step is added: aggregated daily figures (visit counts, wake and sleep times) are sent securely to our AI provider to be written up in plain English, with your parent's name removed first. Raw sensor events never leave our infrastructure, whatever you choose.

Draft document. This privacy policy is a working draft and may be updated before launch. It reflects our current approach and commitments.
Hearth is a wellbeing monitoring system that uses passive sensors: motion detectors and a door contact sensor. There are no cameras, no microphones, and no audio recording of any kind. We believe care monitoring should be invisible to the person being cared for, and transparent to the family using it.
Hearth is a cloud-first service. A small hub in the home forwards sensor signals, encrypted in transit (TLS), to Hearth's secure cloud infrastructure hosted in the UK/EU, where activity patterns are analysed and made available to your Care Circle through the app and dashboard. Sensor data consists of movement and door events only, never images or audio. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. The hub holds its own unique device certificate, only ever makes outbound connections, and does not accept any inbound connections from the internet. Access to the dashboard requires authentication, and account management, billing and push-notification delivery run on the same secure infrastructure.
AI-powered insights are optional and off by default. If you enable them, aggregated daily metrics (such as room-visit counts, wake and sleep times, outing durations and activity trends) are sent securely over HTTPS to a third-party AI provider to generate plain-English summaries and reports. Raw sensor events and addresses are never sent, and your parent's name is removed before anything is sent to the AI provider. Our AI provider does not retain this data after processing. You can disable AI insights at any time in your settings.
Only invited members of the Care Circle can view dashboard data and receive notifications. Care Circle membership is managed by the primary account holder. Members can be added or removed at any time. Hearth Systems staff do not have routine access to your sensor data. Any diagnostic access for troubleshooting is logged and visible to the account holder.
